J. D. Salinger, Literary Recluse, Dies at 91

CHARLES McGRATH, J. D. Salinger, Literary Recluse, Dies at 91, January 29, 2010

My copy of The Catcher in the Rye is tattered and torn. I have given more friends copies of Franny and Zooey than I can count. Holden and the Glass family made me a little more comfortable in my own skin throughout highschool and undergrad.  I am sad to hear of Mr. Salinger death but wish him the peace that he strove for in life.

"What really knocks me out is a book that, when your all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him on the phone whenever you felt like it." -The Catcher in the Rye

If you are a fan of visual and interactive maps, take a walk in Holden's shoes:
