Ex-Inmate's Dilemma - $2.2 Million or a Lawsuit suing the State of Texas. At age 18, Michael A. Green was falsely accused of raping a girl and served 27 years in prison. In 2001, Texas passed a statute granting inmates the right to request DNA tests on old evidence under certain conditions. 9 years later and after a DNA test, Green was found innocent. Now he is trying to move forward with his recent freedom.
