BugBots

Harvard engineering professor, Rob Wood, is working with a team of graduate students to design and create robotic insects smaller than the size of your finger tip.

While robo-bugs could one day replace honey bees (upon their extinction) they are also designed to work in swarms to build parts of bridges and damns that are too dangerous for humans to reach. Miniature worm like robots are being developed for the medical industry to deliver drug injections to specific areas in the intestinal system.
