IFVP Visual Practitioner's Conference 2010

Heather and I just returned from IFVP's Visual Practitioner's Conference in San Francisco. Highlights from the 3 day conference included The Grove's founder, David Sibbet on the History of Graphic Recording and Dan Roam's presentation on how simple images help people solve problems. But the best part was connecting with the other 81 people from all over the world who are practicing graphic facilitators and graphic recorders. If you would like to learn more about IFVP, a powerful community of creative leaders from around the world, who share a common passion for bringing information and ideas to life visually, please visit their website and consider becoming a member, we are!

Heather and I are both already looking forward to the 2011 Conference in Hawaii!

Heather's notes on Dave Sibbet's presentation of the history of graphic recording. Many participants in the conference were invited on stage as they were acknowledge for their seminal contributions to the 30 year practice of graphic facilitation and making meaning with images.

We just got a copy of David Sibbet's new book, Visual Meetings: How Graphics, Sticky Notes and Idea Mapping Can Transform Group Productivity. It is packed full of great information on how visuals increase your leadership ablity by keeping participants engaged and help them really "see" what you mean!
